Chia seeds are a traditional food of the indigenous peoples of Central and South America, and thanks to their outstanding nutritional properties they’ve now achieved recognition as a superfood worldwide. Chia is one of the best vegan sources of α-Linolenic acid (ALA), an essential omega-3 fatty acid, and is also high in dietary fibre, calcium and phosphorus. The seeds make a nice porridge or a crunchy topping for yogurt, desserts and breads.
