Jason Atherton is not only a world-class culinary alchemist and owner of a fine-dining empire, he is also a top foodie personality featured in national newspapers, magazines and TV series, most recently starring as the host of Great British Menu and soon to be co-hosting with Lorraine Pascale on Sky Living’s new series My Kitchen Rules. Jason’s restaurants include Table No. 1 and The Commune Social in Shanghai, Pollen Street Social, Little Social and Social Eating House in London, Esquina, Pollen, and Snacks in Singapore and 22 Ships in Hong Kong. Forthcoming restaurants include Berners Tavern (September 2013) and Tower 42 (spring 2014) in London, two to be named in Hong Kong (winter 2013 and winter 2014) and one to be named in Dubai (spring 2014).

About the Author

With seasoned experience, having worked under great chefs including Pierre Koffmann, Nico Ladenis, and Marco Pierre White, Jason Atherton joined the Gordon Ramsay Group in 2001 as the executive chef for Verre in Dubai. In 2005, Jason returned to the UK to run Maze in the heart of London, launching what would be the most successful brand in the group. Jason opened his own flagship restaurant, Pollen Street Social in April 2011.

Pollen Street Social has been ranked at number six in The Good Food Guide’s Top 50 Restaurants 2013. It was deemed London’s best new fine dining restaurant in the Time Out Eating & Drinking Awards 2011 and won New Restaurant of the Year at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2012.

Jason’s recipes and articles have appeared widely in magazines and newspapers including: The Guardian, The Sunday Times, The Observer Food Monthly, Waitrose Food Illustrated, and Caterer and Hotelkeeper. Additionally, he demonstrates regularly on food shows in the UK and abroad. He is a regular guest on Saturday Kitchen and Market Kitchen. June 2008 saw Jason win the third hugely popular series of BBC2’s Great British Menu. In 2009 and 2010 Jason returned to the Great British Menu as host. In late 2013 to early 2014 Jason and Lorraine Pascale will co-host for Sky Living’s flagship series My Kitchen Rules.
